EuroMillions Plus Won in Wexford as Date of Next Superdraw Announced

Last Updated: Thursday 11th November 2021, 10:46 am

A lucky player from New Ross in Co Wexford has snapped up a EuroMillions Plus jackpot of €500,000 in the latest draw on Tuesday 9th November.

It is the first time in more than a month that someone has matched all five winning numbers in the EuroMillions Plus draw. The winning numbers were 2, 16, 28, 33 and 48, and the all-important ticket was sold at the Gala Forecourt on the Waterford Road in New Ross.

Harry Buckley, the owner of the store, was delighted to find out about the success the next day. He said: “It’s been quite the morning here. We have a team of 20 in the shop and we’re all thrilled that one of our customers became the biggest winner in Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw.

“When the news gets out around the town, I’m sure that lots of our customers will be in to check their tickets. It would be great if someone local won the €500,000 prize – what a win to have in the lead up to Christmas!”

More excitement is also round the corner for EuroMillions players in the lead-up to Christmas after it was revealed that the next Superdraw will take place on Friday 3rd December.

The Superdraw, or Megadraw, will put up a jackpot of €130 million. It will be the fourth special jackpot event of the year, following on from the most recent Superdraw in September. On that occasion the top prize went on to reach a record €220 million before a player from France won the lot.

There has yet to be an Irish EuroMillions winner in 2021. The last time the jackpot was won in the country was back in July 2020, when an online player from Leinster landed €49 million. Ireland has produced at least one jackpot winner every year since 2016.

Millionaire Raffle is Back

Away from EuroMillions, the Christmas Millionaire Raffle is back for 2021. In keeping with tradition, it will again take place on 31st December. Tickets are already on sale.

The prizes were announced recently and there are more up for grabs this year, with a total of 6,210. The jackpot is worth €1 million if you are lucky enough to match the winning number exactly.

There are just 500,000 tickets available, so they could sell out well before the draw takes place. Go to the Millionaire Raffle page for more information and make sure not to miss out on the chance to play.
