Can Irish Players Make History in EuroMillions Superdraw?

The EuroMillions jackpot stands at a colossal €130 million ahead of Friday’s Superdraw, creating the opportunity for someone from Ireland to become the country’s largest ever lottery winner.
Dolores McNamara, a part-time cleaner and mother of six from Limerick, still holds the record for the biggest win achieved by an Irish player on EuroMillions. She bagged an incredible €115.4 million on 29th July 2005, and nobody from the Emerald Isle has yet been able to put her in the shade. Another big winner took home €93.9 million in June 2013 after sharing a jackpot of €187.9 million with a Belgian participant.
Excitement has been growing ahead of Friday’s Superdraw, also known as a Megadraw, since it was announced last month. The jackpot has been won several times this summer - including four times since the start of August - but the top prize in a Superdraw is always guaranteed so it has not mattered. Take a look at the Superdraw page to find out more about how such jackpot events work and where the money comes from.
If there is an Irish winner on Friday, they would also make history as the first player from the country to win a Superdraw jackpot on the night of the draw. Even if there is no winner, though, the top prize will roll over as normal and an even better jackpot will be on offer in the following draw.
Irish players have also enjoyed a great run of success in EuroMillions Plus over the past few weeks, and one lucky ticket holder from the South-East of the country scooped the €500,000 jackpot in the supplementary game last night.
