Bank Holiday Success For Irish Lottery Players

There was plenty to celebrate during the three-day bank holiday weekend in Ireland, as players throughout the country secured some big wins over the extended break in both EuroMillions and Irish Lotto.
Lotto Jackpot Won In The Mid-West
Last Saturday’s Irish Lotto jackpot was worth €4.5 million, and a lucky player from the Mid-West of Ireland matched all six main numbers to land the seven-figure windfall. The winning numbers on Saturday 2nd June were 1, 7, 10, 17, 35 and 37, plus the Bonus Ball 43. There were also two Match 5 plus Bonus winners of just over €106,000 each, who made it a bank holiday to remember for all the right reasons. Elsewhere, both the Lotto Plus 1 and 2 jackpots rolled over after no one was able to land the top prizes.
Little is known about the latest Irish Lotto multi-millionaire, who now has 90 days from the date of the draw to come forward and claim their prize. It’s the lottery’s fifth jackpot win of the year, following on from the Galway ticket holder who took home €8.5 million on Saturday 12th May.
Waterford-Based EuroMillions Player Wins €1 Million
The EuroMillions draw on Friday 1st June may have seen the €75 million jackpot split between two lucky ticket holders in Spain and Portugal, but they weren’t the only millionaires created on the night.
An Irish player from Waterford scooped €1 million in a special Ireland Only Raffle. All EuroMillions ticket holders from Ireland are automatically entered into the supplementary draw, which normally gives away ten prizes worth €5,000 each. However, with a guaranteed millionaire in this special draw, the ticket containing the winning code - I-DTG-57033 – was bought at the Tramore Service Station on Waterford Road.
The service station’s store owner and manager, Elaine Farrell, said: “We are just a few minutes from where the other recent Ireland Only Raffle winning ticket was sold (in November 2017) so maybe Tramore is fast-becoming a lucky millionaires town. We’ve been spreading the word to all of our customers this morning and I really hope it is a local who is the winner.”
Dermot Griffin, National Lottery CEO, added: “The Ireland Only Raffle is something we do every so often to give back something extra to our loyal players. And no better way to stay June and the summer than with the Ireland Only Raffle.”
