€130 Million EuroMillions Superdraw To Be Held on 27th September
Last Updated: Tuesday 20th August 2024, 10:59 am
If you dream of becoming one of Ireland’s biggest EuroMillions winners, you can look forward to a Superdraw on Friday 27th September and the chance to land a jackpot of €130 million.
The beauty of a Superdraw is that the jackpot is far larger than average, even if it has only just been won. In every draw, a portion of the prize money is kept aside in a Reserve Fund, and this is what is used to pay for big promotions such as Superdraws.
Due to the way they are funded, Superdraws - also known as Megadraws - can only happen every few months. The upcoming one will be the fourth of 2024, following similar events in January, March and June.
Playing in a Superdraw is just the same as taking part in a regular draw, apart from the enlarged jackpot. You still have to pick five numbers from 1 to 50, plus two Lucky Stars between 1 and 12. You are automatically entered into the Ireland Only Raffle, and can also decide whether to add EuroMillions Plus for extra €1.
The Ireland Only Raffle and EuroMillions Plus games give you more ways to win great prizes, but the multimillion-euro jackpot on offer in the main draw is the ultimate target for any ticket holder.
Waiting for an Irish Winner
There has not been an Irish winner of the EuroMillions jackpot since February 2022, making it the longest wait since a four-year gap between 2009 and 2013. The next Irish winner will be the country’s 20th since the game started in 2004.
Your odds of winning are the same on the Emerald Isle as anywhere else, and many ticket holders from Ireland have previously enjoyed success.
The biggest win came in February 2019, when a family syndicate from The Naul in Co Dublin matched all the numbers to bank €175 million. They hid the ticket in an Argos catalogue until they were ready to come forward, when they decided to stay anonymous but did say that everyone in the family would now be financially sorted for generations to come.
The lucky family’s record could be under threat if the upcoming Superdraw jackpot rolls over. Make sure to keep up to date with the latest EuroMillions Results after every draw to see which numbers have been selected and how many winners have been made in Ireland.
