Westmeath Woman Nets Two Big EuroMillions Wins with Same Numbers

A woman from Westmeath has benefited from her own forgetfulness after winning two EuroMillions prizes of €21,449 with the same numbers. The lucky lady bought a ticket on Saturday 6th February for the EuroMillions draw three days later, but then on the Tuesday she did not remember that she had already entered the game and so made another purchase.
Both tickets were bought in Monksland Retail Centre, Athlone, and as they both matched five of the main numbers drawn she was able to double her reward and scoop €42,898. The woman, who has been been playing with a friend since the start of the year, said: “I don’t know what made me forget we’d already played!”
The two pals now plan to take a holiday together to either France, Portugal or Eastern Europe, as well as paying off a few bills, and they are also looking forward to playing the game together in the future after making such a great start to the year.
The Irish success on EuroMillions continued last night as one lucky player matched five main numbers plus one of the Lucky Stars to land just over €1 million.
