New EuroDreams Lottery Is First of Its Kind in Ireland
Last Updated: Tuesday 24th October 2023, 10:14 am
A new lottery - EuroDreams - is set to launch on Monday 30th October with a top prize of €20,000 a month for 30 years, lots of other ways to win and players from across Europe.
It is the first draw of its kind to ever be offered in Ireland, as there has never before been a game in the Emerald Isle which has an annuity as the jackpot. This is where winners are paid out in regular instalments over a long period of time rather than getting a one-off sum.
This provides guaranteed financial rewards for decades to come, as single jackpots can potentially be enjoyed and then disappear very quickly.
How it Works
EuroDreams will be played in eight of the nine countries where EuroMillions is available – Ireland, France, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
Draws will take place on Mondays and Thursdays, and you will be required to pick six main numbers from 1 to 40, plus a Dream Number from 1 to 5.
Apart from the jackpot, the second prize is also annuitized - €2,000 a month for five years. Go to the EuroDreams page to find out more about how the game works and about all the different ways to win.
‘Incredibly Popular’
Irish Lottery officials are hoping that the game will connect with regular players and attract new ones too.
Chief executive Andrew Algeo said the new game would offer “a unique, life-changing annuity prize, the likes of which has never been seen in Ireland before”.
He added that this type of annuity game has been “incredibly popular in other countries such as the UK and the US and we think it will prove incredibly popular with our players, some of which like the idea of winning such a prize which is paid in regular instalments over the long term”.
The first draw for EuroDreams will be on Monday 6th November, and you will be able to view the results as soon as they are available.
