Ireland's Biggest EuroMillions Jackpot Is Approaching

Ireland's Biggest EuroMillions Jackpot Is Approaching

Last Updated: Thursday 27th March 2025, 13:01 pm

This Friday will see a historic night for EuroMillions as the jackpot rises to an estimated €245 million, potentially creating Ireland's biggest winner ever!

The current record goes to a family syndicate who won €175 million in February 2019. The ticket was sold at Reilly's Daybreak on Main Street, The Naul, Co. Dublin and no player from Ireland has won more - could it happen this Friday?

Huge Jackpot for Ireland

The Megadraw (or Superdraw), that took place on Friday 7th March, instantly boosted the top prize to €130 million. However, nobody won in that draw. In fact, no one has won EuroMillions since! As a result, the jackpot has grown to this record-breaking amount, setting the stage for Ireland’s biggest winner yet.

Luck could be in the air for Ireland this year, as there have already been some astounding lottery wins in 2025. There have been a whopping nine EuroMillions Plus Top Prize winners, who have all picked up €500,000!

One of these notable winners includes two players from Dublin who got their winning ticket from a Tesco Express in Kimmage. One of the players couldn’t quite believe their luck stating:

“I literally just popped into the shop as I was passing by to pick up a few groceries and threw in a EuroMillions ticket purely on a whim. The news hasn’t settled with us yet, but we’re going to sit on it for a while before deciding what we’d like to do”.

With such a promising start for Ireland in EuroMillions this year, could it all be leading to the biggest ever win in the country?

What If It’s Not Won?

Of course, EuroMillions could also be won by a player from any of the nine participating countries, or, it may not be won on Friday at all - so what happens then?

If the jackpot rolls over for a sixth time since the Superdraw it will reach its cap of €250 million where it will stay for the next five draws. In the fifth draw the jackpot must be won, so if nobody matches all the numbers then the entire amount is shared between the players in the second highest tier (those who match five numbers and just one lucky star). You can find more information about this on our jackpot cap page.

With a total of 19 Irish EuroMillions winning tickets, the 20th could be coming very soon, and if they win this jackpot it would make them the biggest winner of the lot!

With excitement building, many players are eagerly awaiting their chance to win this historic jackpot. If you don’t want to go to the store, you can always bet online for better accessibility.
