Five Irish Millionaires Guaranteed in EuroMillions This August

Five EuroMillions players in Ireland are guaranteed to become millionaires this August. A series of special draws will take place over the course of two weeks, starting on Tuesday 10th and climaxing on Friday 20th. The five €1 million prizes will be paid out through the Ireland Only Raffle.
The Ireland Only Raffle is a supplementary game that is held alongside every EuroMillion draw, and the cost of entry is included in the price of a ticket for the main draw. You receive a unique raffle code to go with each line of EuroMillions numbers you play, consisting of four letters and five numbers. The code always starts with the letter ‘I’.
Ten winning codes are selected at random. In a standard draw, you receive €5,000 if you match one of the winning codes exactly, with all of the characters in the same order. Special draws also take place from time to time, with one of the 10 winners randomly selected to receive an extra €1 million. Their total payout is therefore €1,005,000, while the other nine players still receive €5,000 each.
These special draws were previously spaced out throughout the year, but this month they take place consecutively on Tuesday 10th August, Friday 13th August, Tuesday 17th August and Friday 20th August. There will be one millionaire in each of the first three draws, with two millionaires on 20th August.
A spokesperson for the National Lottery said: “We are hugely excited for this exclusive Ireland only event which will see five guaranteed EuroMillions millionaires from 10th – 20th August. Usually, every EuroMillions draw in Ireland produces ten winners of the €5,000 raffle prize but during this special event, in addition to the normal raffle prize on each draw, five winners across all four draws will win the special €1 million prize. This means that we are going to make at least five people brand new millionaires.”
"Not only will the Ireland Only Raffle event see the creation of five instant millionaires in Ireland over the two weeks, but all EuroMillions players in Ireland will also be in with a chance of becoming Ireland’s first EuroMillions jackpot winner of 2021."
There were also five millionaires across four draws in November last year. Four players from Dublin landed €1 million and one ticket holder from Galway also became a millionaire.
You can win a prize on the main game and the Ireland Only Raffle on the same night. The odds of winning a EuroMillions prize are 1 in 13, while the odds of winning on the Ireland Only Raffle depend on how many tickets have been sold.
It has been over a year since the EuroMillions jackpot was last won in Ireland. An online player from the Leinster area won €49 million on 21st July 2020. You can see the latest winning numbers on the EuroMillions Results page after every draw.
