EuroMillions Plus Win ‘Huge for Whole Town’ in Roscommon

The owner of a shop which sold a winning EuroMillions Plus ticket for the draw on Tuesday 6th October has hailed the result as a significant moment for everyone who lives in Ballyfarnon.
There was only one winner of the €500,000 top prize in the latest draw, and it turned out the lucky entry was purchased at Healy’s XPress Stop service station. The store is located in Co Roscommon, near the border of Co Sligo and Co Donegal.
The village of Ballyfarnon only has a population of around 200, and all the residents have been urged to check their tickets to see if they had the numbers 5, 29, 35, 40 and 50. Mark Healy, who runs the service station with his parents, is hopeful the winner is a local.
He said: “Ballyfarnon is quite a small village so knowing that one of our neighbours could be a half a million richer is just fantastic. We are situated in a rural area in Co. Roscommon so we would have a lot of local customers who rely on our shop and filling station for their day to day essentials. We certainly hope it’s a local winner.”

EuroMillions Plus can be played on top of the main EuroMillions game for an extra €1 per line. You don’t have to do anything else apart from select the Plus option, and your main EuroMillions numbers will then be entered into the separate Plus draw that is held every Tuesday and Friday.
You win €500,000 if you match all five winning numbers, even if other players do the same, while you can also pick up prizes for matching three or four numbers. The odds of landing the jackpot are far better than the odds of pocketing the main EuroMillions jackpot, and there have been 22 winners of the top prize already this year.
