Dublin Workmates Keep Big EuroMillions Win Secret

The 11 members of a work syndicate from Dublin have revealed that none of their colleagues know anything about a big EuroMillions win they snapped up last month. The lucky group popped out during their lunch break on Friday to claim the €278,540 prize, and they are determined to keep the news secret.
The syndicate matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star in the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday 31st July. They played online so they were notified via email that they had won, but they had not anticipated that it would be so much.
“We all work on the same team and have been running our syndicate for over a year,” said the syndicate spokeswoman. “Recently we transferred to online play because we found it really handy to manage. When I got the email saying we had won a prize I didn’t check it for several hours as I presumed it was a small win. I couldn’t speak for 10 minutes when I checked and saw we had won this big amount.”
Each member of the syndicate is now over €25,000 richer, and many of them are already busy making travel plans as they consider how to use the money. They just hope that nobody else in the large company will find out about their success.
“We all decided to keep this between ourselves and share just with close family and friends,” said the spokeswoman. “Holidays are top of the list for many in the syndicate. It’s a lovely amount of money to win. It will change our lives in a nice way.”
