Dublin Man ‘Proves Wife Wrong’ With EuroMillions Plus Win

A EuroMillions Plus player has picked up a cheque for €500,000 after sticking to his lucky numbers and winning the top prize in Tuesday 15th November's draw, but admits it would have been a very different story if he had listened to his wife and not bought a ticket.
The Dublin man matched the numbers 35, 40, 43, 48 and 49 to become the second EuroMillions Plus winner in a row. He can now look forward to buying a new family home and stabilising his finances, insisting that he will be more than happy to buy his wife something very special for her upcoming birthday, even though his eagerness to play Lotto and EuroMillions has sometimes been a source of disagreement in the past.
“I always do my own lucky numbers for every draw which my wife wasn't overly happy about,” said the man, who has decided to stay anonymous, as he collected his winnings. “She’s always nagging me for buying my Lotto and EuroMillions tickets. She used to tell me that I hadn’t a chance of winning so I’m very happy to prove her wrong."
The Dublin winner is not the only lottery player who has been rewarded for their persistence recently. Just as he remained committed to his favourite numbers, a woman from Celbridge in Kildare who previously predicted a big win has come forward to receive €317,751. She scooped the prize after matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star in the EuroMillions draw on Friday 28th October.
“I used to pass the National Lottery offices when I lived in Dublin and I always thought, one day I will win and will go in there to claim my prize. And here I am,” said the woman, who revealed that she is in need of a new car and also hopes to buy her own house.
