Could June Superdraw Create Another Big Irish EuroMillions Winner?
Last Updated: Wednesday 6th May 2026, 10:16 am
The second EuroMillions Superdraw of 2026 will take place on Friday 5th June, offering a jackpot of €130 million.
It has already been a year of big jackpots, with three successive nine-figure payouts, but Ireland is still waiting for its first winner.
There were two jackpot-winning tickets sold on the Emerald Isle last year, including a record €250 million prize on 17th June, 2025. Could the upcoming Superdraw create a similar summer win?
The jackpot will be raised to €130 million regardless of its value in the preceding draw (even if it’s won on Tuesday 2nd June). The money comes from the Reserve Fund, which is allocated a small percentage from the prize pot in every draw. It is used to pay for special promotions such as Superdraws or EuroMillionaires Raffle draws.
If there are no tickets that match all the numbers on the night of the Superdraw - also known as a Megadraw - the jackpot will roll over and an even larger amount will be put up for grabs in the following draw. It can climb as high as €250 million before it is capped.
The other possibility is that the jackpot reaches a figure in excess of €130 million before the scheduled date of the Superdraw. In this scenario, the higher jackpot would be allowed to carry on rolling as normal until there is a winner, and another Superdraw would be arranged for the near future. This is exactly what happened last summer, when a Superdraw was effectively postponed in the run-up to the family syndicate from Cork winning €250 million.
€8.7 Million Lotto Win
There may not have been an Irish EuroMillions winner yet in 2026, but multiple millionaires have been made across other games. One lucky player landed €8.7 million on Lotto in the latest draw on Saturday 2nd May.
The winning ticket was purchased in Dublin at Applegreen Ballymount on Ballymount Avenue. It was a Quick Pick and was bought on the day of the draw. The winning numbers were 1, 7, 27, 28, 34 and 42. The Bonus Ball was 26.
Tom Hevey, the site director at Applegreen Ballymount, said: “Getting a call from the National Lottery to say that our store sold a Lotto jackpot ticket worth over €8.7 million was the best way to get the week started. The entire team in-store were absolutely thrilled to hear that one of our customers spent the bank holiday weekend becoming a Lotto jackpot millionaire.”
Hevey also described Applegreen Ballymount as a busy location with local and passing trade, so hopefully the winner checks their ticket and comes forward soon. They have 90 days from the draw date to claim their money.
Whether you’re a fan of Irish Lotto, EuroMillions, or both games, follow the latest results after every draw and make sure to take part to give yourself a chance of winning.
