The lucky Irish Lotto player who won a jackpot of €7.5 million on 25th October has been in touch with officials to claim their money. Arrangements are now being made for them to come forward and collect their seven-figure prize in the next few days.
The ticket was bought at the Eason store in Thurles Shopping Center, Co Tipperary, on the day before the draw. While the identity of the winner has yet to be revealed, it could be that the entry belongs to a syndicate, or at least a couple, after the National Lottery confirmed that the ‘ticket holders’ have made contact.
Irish Lotto Jackpot Buzz
Tom O’Toole, who owns the Eason store, is among those who is looking forward to finding out more about the winner. He had said straight after the jackpot was won: “We’ve had a customer share the winning Lotto numbers six or seven years ago but this is a lot of money to win.”
He added: “We are in a shopping centre and there’s a general buzz about customers in the mall when they find out. It would be really great if it was someone local too, that would add to the happiness. We are all really just delighted and wish whoever has won well.”
Big Jackpots
The winning numbers on 25th October were 8, 10, 11, 25, 28 and 32. It was the ninth time in 2017 that the jackpot has been won, and the top prize has started to build up again over the past few weeks.
The jackpot currently stands at €5 million ahead of Saturday night’s draw.
