An Irish Lotto player last night became the first jackpot winner for six weeks as they matched all six main numbers to scoop an enormous €7.5 million. There were more than 36,000 prizes pocketed across Ireland, and the shop which sold the jackpot-winning ticket has already been revealed.
The numbers drawn last night were 8, 10, 11, 25, 28 and 32, with Bonus Ball 35. The jackpot winner purchased their entry in Eason in Thurles Shopping Centre, Co Tipperary, and the speculation has already begun over who it might be.
“We are all so excited for the lucky customer,” said manager Deirdre O’Toole in the Irish Times. “We have no idea who it is – hopefully one of our regulars. There’s a very local bunch of customers who buy lotto tickets here every week. Most are buying small amounts, though there are a few syndicates as well. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
The big winner has 90 days to come forward and claim their money, while thousands of other lucky players in last night’s various draws can also look forward to picking up their prizes. One ticket holder matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball to land €54,356, while the other Irish Lotto prizes ranged from a €3 scratchcard for matching two main numbers plus the Bonus Ball to €1,164 for matching five main numbers.
