Irish Lotto jackpots regularly provide life-changing sums in the millions of Euro, but Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 also offer jackpots that could pay off your mortgage, fund a tropical holiday and leave you with plenty left over to splash out on a new car. Similarly, the EuroMillions Plus jackpot of €500,000 might not allow you to retire on the spot, but it would be more than enough to help you launch your own business where you call the shots. So, what do you get with each of the Plus games?
Lotto Plus
When playing Irish Lotto, ticket holders can pay an additional €0.50 to have their numbers entered into two further draws - Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2. Plus 1 provides seven prize tiers and a jackpot of €500,000, whilst there are six winning categories in Plus 2 and a top prize of €250,000. Included in the €0.50 fee is an entry into Lotto Plus Raffle for every line you play in the main Lotto game, which wins you €300 if you match the four-digit code generated on your ticket with the one which is drawn on the night.
A mother from Kildare won €250,000 on Lotto Plus 2 on Saturday 8th October and declared that she would take her children abroad for the first time with the proceeds. The last Lotto Plus 1 jackpot winner came last month, when a Dublin couple scooped €500,000 on Saturday 10th September after playing the same numbers for 15 years.
Those who bet on Irish Lottery games can also place a stake on Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2, with some bookmakers offering payouts for predicting the three Bonus Balls from the results of the main game and the supplementary draws.
EuroMillions Plus
EuroMillions Plus costs €1 on top of the standard ticket price and allows your five main EuroMillions numbers another chance to help you win big in an extra draw just for Irish ticket holders. Players of the game have hit a golden run of form in recent weeks, with an amazing eight players picking up half a million Euro each since the start of September. The latest win came on Friday 14th October, when a participant who bought their ticket at SuperValu in Macroom, Co Cork hit the big one.
A Wexford carer also won the EuroMillions Plus jackpot this month, and told Irish National Lottery officials that the prize from the draw on Tuesday 11th October would change his life. He admitted that relying on an allowance whilst providing full time support for family members had meant his family had been living “week-to-week” and the win would “make sure that we are all secure for many years to come.”
You can play Irish Lotto and EuroMillions at any National Lottery retailer across Ireland, and don’t forget the extra ways to win when you fill out those entries!
