Irish Lotto Jackpot of €7.7 Million Split Two Ways
Last Updated: Thursday 5th October 2023, 11:39 am
One of the largest Irish Lotto jackpots of the year was won in the latest draw on Wednesday night, as two ticket holders matched all the numbers to split €7.7 million.
The jackpot had been building since it was last won on 9th August, and a few more rollovers would have seen it push into eight figures.
Instead, two lucky players were left celebrating as the winning numbers were drawn - 1, 6, 8, 12, 13 and 16 - leaving each of them with more than €3.8 million.
Another participant matched five of the main numbers plus the Bonus Ball of 35 to become €581,130 richer. View the full draw details from Wednesday 4th October.
The wait now begins for the jackpot winners to come forward and claim their money. They have 90 days from the draw date to make contact with Irish Lottery officials. It has already been revealed that both tickets were sold in Dublin, with the shop locations expected to be announced in the coming days.
The last time that a bigger jackpot was up for grabs was on 17th June, when the top prize was worth €12.7 million. Just like the latest draw, there were two winning tickets.
The biggest win on a single ticket this year came all the way back in the first Lotto draw of 2023, when a syndicate from Limerick landed €11.1 million on 4th January.
€100k Promotion
A jackpot of €2 million will be on offer in the next draw on Saturday, while a special promotion will also take place to boost the value of prizes for many players.
An extra €100,000 will be added to the prize fund, which will be shared between everyone who matches three numbers.
It is anticipated that every Match 3 winner will receive approximately €6 more than usual, although the exact amount will depend on how many players fall into that category.
