How To Make Sure You Don’t Miss Out on A EuroMillions Prize

Irish National Lottery players miss out on prizes worth millions of euros every year, whether it is because they lose their winning ticket or simply forget to check their numbers and do not come forward in time. With a €160 million EuroMillions jackpot up for grabs this week, it is worth making sure you plan ahead in case of a big win.
Check Tickets In Time
A man from Dublin last week spoke of his luck - and relief - after discovering a ticket worth €500,000 whilst cleaning out a drawer. He had bought the Quick Pick ticket for the draw on 26th January at Dunnes Stores in Portmarnock, Co Dublin, but had just put it away and forgotten about it.
He finally remembered a few weeks later that he had a bundle of old tickets at home, and found that he had won the top prize in the supplementary EuroMillions Plus draw. He said: “We had heard about the win in the town way back in January but we had absolutely no idea it was us. We had been back to Dunnes several times since but it never dawned on us to check our tickets.”
The Dubliner had at least made sure that he kept his tickets in a safe place and remembered to check the numbers before the deadline. All Irish National Lottery prizes, whether for EuroMillions, Lotto or Daily Million, expire after 90 days.
Online Benefits
The best way to make sure you never miss out on a prize, though, is to take part online. You will be automatically notified of any win, most prizes are paid directly into your online account and your numbers are stored securely so there is no danger of them being lost or stolen. It is also a quick and convenient method of enjoying your favourite games.
If you are lucky enough to win, you can then start to think about how you would like to spend your money. “We’re just glad that we have the cheque in our hand now so we’ll take some time out to process the win properly and we’ll make a nice plan for the future,” said the man from Dublin who won €500,000, adding that any decisions would be made with his young family in mind.
While €500,000 is a very impressive figure, the EuroMillions jackpot for Tuesday night is 320 times larger at €160 million.
