EuroMillions fans in Ireland will be hoping the feelgood factor from the weekend continues after a lucky player from Dublin landed Saturday’s €4.5 million Irish Lotto jackpot. The top prize for EuroMillions has soared to a stunning €139 million after a rollover on Friday, giving participants the chance to become the biggest winner of the year.
The last time a bigger prize was available was on Tuesday 11th October 2016, when a Belgian ticket holder snapped up €168 million. There have been 13 draws since a French family scooped €83.3 million on Tuesday 11th April, and the jackpot now stands as the eighth-largest ever offered in the history of EuroMillions.
Hopes will be high across Ireland ahead of the next draw, following an exciting first few months in 2017. A EuroMillions syndicate from Dublin bagged €88.5 million on 24th January, there have been a host of EuroMillions Plus winners in recent weeks and on Saturday somebody became €4.5 million richer thanks to Irish Lotto.
The winning ticket for Saturday’s draw was sold by An Post in Upper George’s Street in Dun Laoghaire, matching the numbers 2, 5, 12, 34, 41 and 47. The Bonus Ball was 29, and you can find a full breakdown of prizes at the Irish Lotto Results page.
The Irish Lotto winner now has 90 days to come forward and claim their prize, while everyone else can look forward to the chance to win a staggering €139 million on EuroMillions.
