Could You Become the Tenth and Richest Irish EuroMillions Winner?

Tonight’s €166 million EuroMillions jackpot could see you become the tenth, and richest, Irish EuroMillions jackpot winner. The biggest prize to make its way to the Republic in the pan-European lottery’s 12-year history currently stands at €115.4 million, banked by Limerick’s Dolores McNamara in July 2005.
Simply by matching all five main numbers and two Lucky Stars, Dolores claimed a place ahead of Enya and Van Morrison in the list of the 100 richest people in Ireland, but you could leap even higher with a €166 million win this evening. The former cleaner watched the draw whilst enjoying a drink at the Track Bar in Garryowen and asked her friend to check her ticket for her. Dolores reportedly broke down in tears of joy after the win was confirmed and the friend announced her good fortune to the rest of the pub!
Ireland’s second-biggest EuroMillions winner was the owner of a ticket worth €93.9 million on Tuesday 25th June 2013. The lucky player, who purchased their entry in the Beaumont area of Dublin, shared a jackpot of €187.9 million with a Belgian ticket holder and chose to remain anonymous.
A good omen for Irish EuroMillions players is that 2016 has already seen two jackpot wins in the country and, with the old adage about luck coming in threes, perhaps tonight is the night to make it a hat trick. A syndicate of friends from Co Carlow won half of a €132.3 million jackpot on Friday 29th January, with a French player picking up the rest, and a group of 22 Dublin Bus drivers shared €23.8 million on Friday 1st July.
