Can Irish Players Transfer Their Irish Lotto Luck to EuroMillions?

Irish Lotto players are enjoying a tremendous run of fortune, with three jackpots having been won in the past seven draws, but can they transfer that good luck to the big-money EuroMillions jackpot? After Friday’s €130 million Superdraw jackpot rolled, players across Europe will play for €139 million on Tuesday night, €24 million more than Ireland’s current record lottery win.
Irish Lotto Luck
Although the Irish Lotto jackpot rolled from Saturday 8th July to Saturday 26th August, once that €9.4 million bounty was hit, on a ticket bought in Dublin, players couldn’t stop winning! A further two rollovers teed up a €2.9 million bounty for a Limerick player, with another Dubliner scooping €2.3 million just two draws after that.
Lottery fans across the Republic will see this as a tantalising omen ahead of Tuesday night’s gigantic EuroMillions jackpot draw.
Irish EuroMillions Winners
There have been 11 Irish EuroMillions winners since the country entered the game in 2004. The most recent bought their ticket for the draw on Friday 7th July this year from the Garryduff XL Store in Castlebar, Co Mayo and were rewarded with a €28.9 million boost to their bank balance.
They were the second Irish winners of the pan-European lottery’s top prize in 2017, following a syndicate who pocketed €88.5 million in January. They purchased their lucky entries at an Applegreen service station in Lusk, Co Dublin.
Biggest Irish EuroMillions Winner
Dolores McNamara of Limerick remains Ireland’s biggest ever lottery winner, having bagged €115.4 million in August 2005. The former cleaner could find her success eclipsed this week if an Irish player were to claim the full jackpot in Tuesday night’s draw. If the recent run of Irish Lotto success is anything to go by, there has never been a better time to try your hand at this life-changing game.
