Irish Lotto fans across the country are waiting for Saturday’s jackpot winner to come forward after a lucky player scooped one of the largest prizes of the year. The jackpot had climbed to an impressive €9.4 million following a run of 14 rollovers, and a single ticket bought in Dublin matched all six main numbers.
The numbers drawn on Saturday were 1, 16, 17, 32, 34 and 35, with Bonus Ball 5. Take a look at the Irish Lotto Results page for a full breakdown of the 50,790 prizes given away, plus details of the Irish Lotto Plus 1, Irish Lotto Plus 2 and Lotto Plus Raffle draws.
Irish National Lottery officials have already revealed that the jackpot-winning ticket was sold in the Spar Store on Talbot Street, Dublin 1, and the player now has until 24th November to claim their prize. Anyone who purchased a ticket for the draw has been urged to check their numbers to find out if they might be the big winner.
The owner of the store, Ulrike Campbell, told reporters over the weekend: “We just can’t believe it! This is an absolutely massive win for our customers. It’s an emotional win for me too as the store was opened 30 years ago by my father-in-law and I had been running it with my husband for 23 years who recently passed away. All of the staff here are going to enjoy the celebrations today and we send our best wishes to our lucky customer who is €9.4 million richer!”
The last time the jackpot was won was on Wednesday 5th July, when a syndicate of three landed €6.4 million with a ticket bought in the Co. Cavan town of Cootehill. Saturday’s jackpot was also the third-largest of 2017, behind the €12.8 million on 1st March and the €12.3 million split by two ticket holders on 6th May.
The jackpot will now reset to €2 million for the next draw on Wednesday night, giving players another chance to pick up a multimillion-Euro prize.
