The woman, from Co Wicklow, snapped up €500,000 in the Lotto Plus 1 draw on Saturday 5th November and has vowed to put the money to good use.
The winner, who has decided to remain anonymous, bought her Quick Pick ticket at O’Reilly Stores in Baltinglass on the day of the draw, but remained so calm after finding out about her good fortune that her mates were stunned. One friend said: “She casually told us that she had won the Lotto on the Wednesday after the draw and she asked us to come to Dublin with her to help her collect her prize. That was almost three weeks ago! She has been going about life as usual, with a half a million Euro lottery ticket in her bag. As cool as a cucumber!”.
The lucky lady admitted that it meant a lot to have her friends with her as she finally collected the prize, adding: “We are all very close and I hope this will bring us all happiness. I have no plans for my winnings yet but I will take some time and put it to good use.”
The Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 draws will provide extra opportunities for participants to pick up great prizes again this evening, but the main Irish Lotto game will be the focus for most ticket holders after the jackpot grew to eight figures. The €10.5 million top prize is the largest to have been offered on Irish Lotto since a player from Leitrim won €11.1 million on 20th August.
It would be very difficult to remain as calm and collected as the Wicklow winner if you pocketed tonight’s Irish Lotto jackpot, but you could then start planning for the future and put all your dreams into action.
