Two Irish Lotto Jackpot Wins Claimed in One Week

Over $12 million has been claimed in the Irish Lotto this week. On the same day a jackpot paid out €5,501,086, another player came forward to reveal that they had won the top prize back in August.
On Wednesday September 25th, the Irish Lotto jackpot finally paid out after a month of it rolling over. The winning numbers of the draw were: 1, 7, 17, 20, 22, 31 and the Bonus number of 25.
One lucky winner managed to match all six numbers and is now walking away with a total of €5,501,086. Here's a full breakdown of the Irish Lotto results from the 25th of September.
The location of Ireland's newest multi-millionaire was not announced until the following day, when it was revealed that this winning player came from Limerick. This makes them the second jackpot winner from Limerick this year, and the 26th player this year who has become a millionaire through the Irish Lotto.
Another Jackpot Win is Claimed
This wasn't the only big jackpot news that was announced on Wednesday. In the morning the draw took place, another player finally came forward to pick up his jackpot winnings from a draw all the way back in August.
The draw took place on Saturday August 17th with the winning numbers: 8, 9, 14, 30, 42, 47 and the bonus of 16. The jackpot paid out a total of €6,756,855 but no player came forward to claim the top-prize until now.
So why the wait? The winner has revealed that he had not even noticed he was now a multi-millionaire until the following Tuesday after the draw, when he saw on his app that he had won the jackpot.
He stated when he saw this that he was “in complete denial” until the win was eventually confirmed by the claims department, going on to say it was “such a surreal moment.”
