Special Lotto Plus Raffle Draw Set for Saturday 23rd April

Special Lotto Plus Raffle Draw Set for Saturday 23rd April

Last Updated: Tuesday 19th April 2022, 11:31 am

A special edition of the Lotto Plus Raffle will take place on Saturday 23rd April, with winners set to receive a far bigger prize than usual.

Extra €1 Million In Prize Pot

There is an extra guaranteed prize pot of €1 million, which will be shared between all the ticket holders who match the winning raffle numbers. This will be added to the regular €500 payout, so lucky players can expect to receive thousands of euros.

To win a raffle prize, the four-digit number on your ticket must be exactly the same as the code that is drawn on the night. There is a limited number of four-digit combinations, so many players share the same number and there are always multiple winners. You cannot pick your raffle number. It is automatically generated at the point of purchase.

On Saturday 16th April, for example, 97 participants matched the winning code of 9106. The standard prize is €500, but special Lotto Plus draws take place from time to time when an extra €1 million is added to the pot.

If there are around 100 winners on Saturday, they will all scoop approximately €10,000, on top of the €500 that is already coming their way.

The odds of winning a raffle prize are 1 in 10,000, but the minimum play in Irish Lotto is two lines, so your chances are actually 1 in 5,000.

You can also win prizes in the main Lotto draw, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2. When you combine all the games together, the overall odds of winning are 1 in 10. It is even possible to win multiple prizes across the different games.

Irish Lotto Winners

There is a fixed jackpot of €1 million in Lotto Plus 1, while the top prize in Lotto Plus 2 is €250,000. These jackpots do not roll over if nobody wins, unlike the top prize in the main draw.

The Lotto jackpot rolled over all the way to a record-breaking €19 million late last year, before being capped at that amount and staying there until it was finally won on 15th January. A family syndicate from Castlebar in Co Mayo eventually pocketed the money.

Two more jackpots have been won since that unprecedented payout, but the top prize is now back above €6 million following a recent run of rollovers for the past month.
