Special Draws Set To Round Off a Memorable Year
Last Updated: Thursday 19th December 2024, 11:06 am
A special Lotto Plus Raffle will take place on Saturday 21st December, ahead of the Christmas Millionaire Raffle on New Year’s Eve. It has been a year of exciting promotional draws and big wins, and these two events will ensure that more lucky ticket holders land great prizes in time for the start of 2025.
Saturday’s Lotto Plus Raffle will initially work the same way as every other regular draw. For every line of Irish Lotto numbers you play, you’ll also receive a four-digit code between 0000 and 9999. One winning code will be drawn on the night and everyone who matches this combination will receive €500 - usually there are between 50 and 100 winners.
In this draw, though, there is an extra €1 million in the prize pot to go to one of the winners. The Irish Lottery will hold a separate draw from its list of winning tickets to select who gets the enhanced payout.
When the winner comes forward to claim their €500, they will be notified that they actually have a total of €1,000,500 to pick up. Remember to check your tickets after the draw, and keep in mind that tickets expire after 90 days.
Following the special Lotto Plus Raffle on Saturday, there will be more guaranteed winners in the Christmas Millionaire Raffle on New Year’s Eve. One player will win €1 million, while more than 8,000 other prizes between €500 and €100,000 will also be awarded.
A Milestone Year
The Irish Lottery has created big winners across a wide range of games this year and raised vital funds for good causes. In a momentous year, the Irish Lottery also relocated its Dublin headquarters from Abbey Street to 1 George’s Quay, the former Ulster Bank HQ.
The largest win of 2024 came back in January, when a family syndicate scooped €14.6 million on Irish Lotto. It was the biggest-ever Lotto prize to be won online, and the winners admitted it was a last-minute purchase.
A number of EuroMIllions players in Ireland have become millionaires, including two in the EuroMillionaire Raffle at the end of November.
It has also been the first full year of EuroDreams, the multi-national lottery that launched towards the end of 2023 and offers prizes over a long period of time rather than one-off jackpots. To celebrate Halloween, a promotion was held which saw a lucky player from Dublin win €2,000 every month for five years.
There are sure to be more big winners going into 2025, and you can view the Results page anytime to find out what has happened in all the latest draws.
