Everyone who wins a big Irish National Lottery prize has their own way of describing the feeling of euphoria that comes over them when they discover their good fortune, but a woman from Waterford has revealed that she ‘almost had a heart attack’ when she was watching the TellyBingo draw which made her €56,000 richer.
Bridget Murray, a social care worker, bought her ticket for the draw on 2nd August from the An Post on Main Street in Cappoquin. She came forward to claim her money from Lotto HQ in Dublin this week, and said she had been the talk of the town for the past few days.
TellyBingo is a game which offers a progressive ‘Snowball’ jackpot for players who can complete a Full House on their bingo card on or before the 45th ball is drawn. Draws are broadcast on television every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and Bridget was playing along at home when it dawned on her that she was about to land the top prize.
‘Absolutely Speechless’
She said: “It’s just brilliant! I was watching the draw on TV and I almost gave myself a heart attack when my numbers started coming out of the drum one by one. I was left waiting on my final number which was 13 and when I saw it being called out, I was absolutely speechless.”
Bridget added: “There has been great excitement in Cappoquin at the moment and I have been inundated with well-wishers since the news of the win was announced locally. I haven’t decided what to do with my win just yet so I’ll take some time out before I decide on any spending plans.”
Bridget’s win came just a few weeks after another woman from Waterford, Mary Doyle, won a €46,000 TellyBingo prize on 13th July.
EuroMillions Jackpot Reaches €100 Million
TellyBingo is just one of many options available to Irish National Lottery players. You can also try your luck on Irish Lotto, Daily Million or EuroMillions for the chance to win incredible prizes. The EuroMillions jackpot has climbed to €100 million ahead of Friday night’s draw, raising the possibility that Ireland could be about to create one of the biggest winners in the country’s history.
The largest EuroMillions prize ever won in Ireland remains the €115.4 million claimed by part-time cleaning lady Dolores McNamara of Limerick in July 2005. The current jackpot has been building since a player from Spain pocketed €17 million on Friday 13th July, and it now stands at its highest amount for almost four months.
Give the EuroMillions Number Generator a go if you want to create a random line to play on the game. You can then play online or visit an authorised retailer to try and win this Friday’s sensational jackpot. Best of luck!
