There will be an Irish Lotto jackpot of €2 million up for grabs in tonight’s draw, after one lucky player landed the top prize on Saturday 19th September. The search is now on for the participant who matched all six main numbers to pocket €7.3 million and bring to an end a run of 11 rollovers.
The winning ticket for Saturday’s draw was bought at Rushe Supervalu at Killiney Shopping Centre in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, and employees immediately began to speculate about where the player might come from. The entry was purchased four days early, leading store owner John Rushe to think they are ‘bound to be a local’, although he added in the Irish Sun: “We’d have a fair radius of people shopping with us going all the way out to Shankill.”
Rushe added that it was a momentous occasion for everyone at the store, saying: “It is the first time we have won the big one so this is good news. I am in that shop since 1987 and we’ve been waiting a while for the win. We had the winner but we haven’t a clue who it is. We are all very excited about it, It is a brilliant good news story.”
John Horan, the manager of The Graduate Bar located next door, also revealed his desire to see the winner come forward. He also said in the Irish Sun: “Come on in and we’ll give them a great party. Our own bar here serves almost exclusively local people so maybe it is one of our regulars.”
The winner has 90 days to claim their ticket, having made a small piece of Irish Lotto history by becoming the first player to scoop the jackpot since the ball pool was increased from 45 to 47 earlier in September. Neither of the two newly-available numbers has yet been drawn, and you can scrutinise all the statistics if you are considering playing with a new line in tonight’s game.
Whether you pick a different set of numbers or stick to your trusted selection, make sure to buy a ticket online or from any authorised retailer in Ireland. If you are lucky enough to land a life-changing amount of cash you could buy a new home, jet off on some exotic holidays or pay off your mortgage. Best of luck!
