An Irish Lotto player from Limerick plans to seize a “once in a lifetime opportunity” by sharing his €209,241 win with those closest to him. The lucky ticket holder won the six-figure sum after matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball on Wednesday 8th February and now hopes the lives of his family and friends will be significantly enhanced thanks to his good fortune and generosity.
The selfless victor, who purchased his Quick Pick entry from Kelly’s store on Main Street in Foynes, Co. Limerick hours before the draw, was keen to outline his intentions for the money: “Since we found out about the win on Wednesday, my wife and I have been putting plans in place to divide the win among family and friends,” the anonymous father told National Lottery officials. “We know that a small amount of money would mean the world to a lot of people. It’s a special feeling knowing that we will be making a huge difference.”
Not content with just sharing his newfound wealth with his loved ones, the man also aims to spoil the special lady in his life: “The one and only thing I want to buy is a handbag for my wife,” he smiled. “My wife took a shine to some handbags in the shops last week so I’d like to give her a special treat to celebrate our win,” he said.
If you’d love to treat those around you, Wednesday night’s Irish Lotto jackpot currently stands at an estimated €10 million, a sum that would bring cheer to any group. Tickets for the draw are available to purchase online or from any authorised retailer across the Republic. Good luck!
