Lotto Raffle To Create Christmas Millionaire

Irish Lotto players can look forward to a special edition of the Lotto Plus Raffle ahead of Christmas, with one lucky ticket holder guaranteed to become a millionaire.
The Christmas promotion has been organised after a similar event took place on August 19, but the winner failed to come forward in time to claim their €1 million prize. The player, from Monaghan, had until Friday 17th November to make contact with lottery officials.
While they have now missed their deadline, their misfortune has allowed another Lotto Plus extravaganza to take place on Saturday 23rd December.
A spokesperson said: “We were incredibly disappointed to see one of our players in Monaghan missing out on a life-changing €1 million prize which was set to make them the 36th National Lottery millionaire of 2023.
"We are in the business of making millionaires and paying out life-changing prizes to our players. So, we are delighted to announce that this unclaimed prize will be returned to the Lotto Plus Raffle prize fund and one of our Lotto Plus players will officially become a Lotto millionaire just before Christmas on Saturday 23 December.”
How the Lotto Plus Raffle Works
Everyone who buys a Lotto ticket in Ireland and adds the Plus option is entered into two additional draws - Plus 1 and Plus 2 - and a raffle. You receive a four-digit code on your ticket for every line of Lotto numbers you play, and one winning code is then selected at random alongside the main Lotto draws.
In a regular draw, everyone who matches the winning code receives a fixed prize of €500, but special raffles are sometimes scheduled when an extra €1 million is added to the pot.
This extra €1 million is usually split between all the winners, but in the August draw it should have all gone to one lucky ticket holder. That will now happen in December instead.
Lotto draws will continue every Wednesday and Saturday night in the run-up to Christmas, and you can check the results straight afterwards to find out how you have fared.
