Limerick Ticket Holder Wins €500,000 Irish Lotto Plus 1 Jackpot

Last Updated: Tuesday 27th September 2022, 12:53 pm

One lucky Limerick ticket holder is set to receive a massive windfall after landing Saturday evening’s Irish Lotto Plus 1 jackpot of €500,000. The prosperous player, who is yet to make contact with National Lottery officials, correctly matched the numbers 7, 10, 18, 26, 28 and 38 to win the six-figure sum and become the first winner of the supplementary game’s top prize since Saturday 12th August.

The fortuitous lottery fan purchased their entry from Ryan’s Centra on O’Connell Street in the city of Limerick. The store’s owner, James Ryan, spoke positively to reporters regarding the win before pointing out that there had been something in the air ever since Saturday night: "We are absolutely thrilled to have sold the winning ticket,” he said. “There’s a good buzz in the store this morning with locals and customers coming in to check their tickets.”

Focus soon shifted to whether or not Ryan was aware of the identity of the mystery winner: "I’ve no idea who it could be but we’re excited to find out who the winner is,” he said. The proprietor, who recently celebrated his tenth year in business, believed that the ticket holder could have more than one reason to celebrate, after Limerick’s Under 21s made it to the All-Ireland Hurling Final by squeezing past Galway: “I'd say they are smiling this morning, especially after the hurling result,” he grinned.

Saturday’s supplementary draws also proved prosperous for two more players, who correctly matched five of the six numbers and the Bonus Ball (39) to scoop €5,000 in the Lotto Plus 1 draw, while one lucky player achieved the same feat in the Lotto Plus 2 draw to take home €2,500.

If you would like to land yourself a life-changing sum, this Wednesday’s Irish Lotto jackpot is well worth winning as it stands at a colossal €9 million.
