Last Updated: Thursday 29th July 2021, 15:22 pm
The first Irish Lotto draw of December saw the jackpot of €3.8 million roll over, but more than 26,000 participants still matched some of the numbers drawn to win great prizes. One participant matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to scoop a tidy €45,644.
The winning numbers were 8, 9, 16, 26, 32 and 47 with Bonus Ball 35, with the rest of the prizes in the main game ranging from a scratchcard worth €3 for matching two main numbers and the Bonus Ball right up to €1,521 for matching five main numbers.
Lotto Plus players also did exceptionally well, with more than 18,000 participants picking up supplementary awards in both Lotto Plus 1 and and Lotto Plus 2. The night was rounded off with the Lotto Plus Raffle, in which 71 players matched the winning code of 2954 to win €300 each. With the Irish Lotto jackpot now worth an estimated €4.5 million for Saturday, players will be snapping up tickets in droves as the cost of Christmas dinners, festive presents and other items starts to cut into their bank balance. The top prize is rapidly approaching the amount scooped by a couple from Co Clare on Wednesday 28th October. The pair had been buying Irish Lotto tickets since the game was launched in 1988, and in 2015 they were handsomely rewarded with €5.3 million! If you snapped up a similar sum, you could follow in their footsteps and jet off to Las Vegas or simply host a Christmas dinner you and your family would never forget.
