Saturday evening’s draw proved to be sensational for one Irish Lotto player after they scooped the €7,902,685 jackpot. By matching all six numbers, the lucky ticket holder from Wexford claimed the seven-figure sum to become the fourth winner of the top prize this year. Saturday’s draw proved to be a prosperous one, with over 52,000 prizes won by fortuitous Irish Lotto fans.
The winning numbers were 1, 9, 15, 23, 33 and 38, with 29 making an appearance as the Bonus Ball. In addition to the biggest winner on the night, 38 ticket holders each managed to land an impressive sum of €1,241 by matching five main numbers. A further 31,318 lucky players ended the night with prizes ranging from €9 for matching three main numbers to €136 for matching four main numbers and the Bonus Ball, while 20,778 players will be hoping for a little extra luck after taking home a €3 scratch card by matching two main numbers and the Bonus Ball.
Fortune shone brightly on two players in the Lotto Plus 1 draw, as both participants secured €5,000 apiece by matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to become the second-largest prize winners on the night. While both the Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 top prizes remained untouched, 130 players did match the Lotto Plus Raffle code of 4672 to claim €300 each. The latest jackpot winner, who purchased a €12.50 ticket on Saturday afternoon prior to the draw, is yet to have their identity revealed, but Michael Hanrahan, boss of Londis in The Faythe where the winning ticket was purchased, is well acquainted with the lucky ticket holder and believes that the public may never find out: “I know the lady who won the €7.9m jackpot, but understandably, she wants to remain anonymous,” he told the Irish Examiner. “She is absolutely delighted that she has won the top prize, and I am too because she is a lovely lady, as well as a lucky one.”
