A Dublin store has been left ‘buzzing’ after National Lottery officials confirmed that it had sold the jackpot-winning ticket for Saturday night’s €11.3 million draw. It was the largest prize to have been offered on the game since January and a single player matched all six main numbers to scoop the lot.
The winning numbers on 3rd December were 2, 6, 21, 23, 29 and 44 with Bonus Ball 41, and over 51,000 participants snapped up prizes. You can visit the Irish Lotto Results section to see a full prize breakdown, as speculation now turns to when the jackpot winner will come forward to claim their money.
The lucky player bought their ticket in the Spar shop at the Top Service petrol station on Amiens Street in Dublin, and assistant manager Craig Madden admits the store has been bombarded by customers since the news broke. He said in the Irish Independent: “We’re delighted, it’s great news, especially coming up to Christmas. The place has been absolutely buzzing all morning.”
Asked about who the winner might be, Craig conceded that it ‘could have been anyone’, as the store gets a lot of local shoppers and passing trade due to its location on a main road. He added: “It could have been someone coming in just to buy a packet of cigarettes or something.”
The winner has 90 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize, and if they come forward quickly they will be able to splash some of the cash on having a terrific Christmas. The jackpot had not previously been won since two ticket holders shared €4.5 million on Saturday 1st October, and the result is sure to fill other players with confidence ahead of the festive season.
If you fancy bagging Wednesday’s €2 million jackpot and making it two winners in a row, you can choose your numbers now by either entering online or visiting an authorised retailer in Ireland such as the Dublin Spar which sold Saturday’s winning entry. Best of luck!
