The Irish Lotto jackpot was won for the second draw in a row last night as a single player matched all six main numbers to pocket the €2 million top prize. The ticket was sold in Carrick-on-Shannon in County Leitrim, and the lucky participant can now start to think about how they will enjoy their fortune.
The numbers drawn on Wednesday 31st May were 15, 31, 33, 34, 36 and 43, with Bonus Ball 39. Check out the Irish Lotto Results page for more information, following a draw which saw over 22,000 ticket holders snap up prizes.
The winner now has 90 days to come forward and claim their prize, and excitement is building in Carrick-on-Shannon as local residents wait to learn more. Kennedy’s Topaz Filling Station on Dublin Road sold the winning ticket on the day before the draw, and store owner Kevin Kennedy has joked that he will be looking out for anyone driving a new car. He told the Leitrim Observer: “We would have about 65 % local trade with 35% passing trade, so hopefully the winner will be local, the chances are it will.”
The latest jackpot success comes hot on the heels of Saturday’s draw, when a player from Dublin scooped €4.5 million. The top prize for the next game on Saturday will also be worth €2 million.
Irish players can also look forward to Friday’s €152 million EuroMillions draw, and anyone keen on trying their luck can bet online or go to any authorised retailer in Ireland. Best of luck!
