Hunt Is On for Irish Lotto Winner As Lucky Store Strikes Again

Saturday’s big Irish Lotto win has prompted calls for ticket holders to check their tickets, as the store that sold the lucky entry celebrates a second extraordinary result.
The Lotto jackpot for 20th April was worth €8.9 million following a run of rollovers stretching back to 14th February. The numbers drawn were 1, 9, 10, 14, 26 and 40, with Bonus Ball 4. A single player matched all the numbers.
The location where the winning ticket was sold was announced shortly afterwards. It was revealed to be Garryowen Stores in Garryowen, on the outskirts of Limerick City.
This has now been described as the luckiest store in Ireland, as it was also where Dolores McNamara bought a EuroMillions ticket worth €115 million in July 2005. At the time, this was not just the biggest win ever seen in Ireland, but also the largest EuroMillions win in history.
“We’re back on the map for a lottery win, big time," said store owner Tom Brosnan as lottery officials descended on Garryowen to celebrate with employees.
“It’s been almost 20 years since we sold the winning EuroMillions ticket to Dolores but this win is just as magical. Most of our customers are local and we’re absolutely thrilled for whoever it might be.
"The whole community has been down to the shop today, there’s a great buzz about the place and I’m sure the celebrations will continue for a good few weeks until the winner comes forward. Whoever they are, we wish them the very best of luck.”
The latest winner has 90 days from the draw date to come forward and claim their prize. In the meantime, keep up to date with the Irish Lotto Results after draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday.
