Hunt is on for Irish Lotto Christmas Eve Jackpot Winner

A single Irish Lotto player scooped the €4.5 million Lotto jackpot in Christmas Eve’s Lotto draw, but they have yet to come forward to claim their prize.
Following a run of five consecutive rollovers, the jackpot for the Saturday 24th December Irish Lotto draw stood at a hefty €4,577,663. Hours after the draw took place, news came in that a single player “in the north” had managed to bag the lot — but it seems that they have yet to come forward to claim their cash.
The winning Lotto ticket is reported to have been purchased from a Supervalu store in Bailieborough, Co Cavan. The winning numbers were 8, 10, 11, 16, 40, 42, with the bonus number 38.
Although the identity of the jackpot winner has yet to be confirmed, the Irish Mirror reports that Lorraine Harris, who owns the Supervalu store, was contacted by staff from Irish Lotto headquarters not long after the draw was held to let her know her shop had sold the winning ticket.
“What a way to end Christmas Eve,” shop-owner Lorraine wrote on her Facebook page. “Everyone check your lotto tickets because we have just sold the winning ticket of tonight’s Lotto jackpot of 4.5million on a €5 quickpick.”
This isn’t the first time that Lorraine’s shop has helped make someone rich — back in 2012, an Irish Lotto ticket worth €3 million was sold at the exact same location.
It’s not yet clear whether Christmas Eve’s winner has been too busy celebrating to get in touch with the lottery’s organisers, or whether they have yet to realise that they’re a millionaire. Either way, this will no doubt be a Christmas to remember for a long time to come.
