A grandmother from Cobh in Co Cork was given a TellyBingo ticket “for luck” by her sister and ended up winning €61,000. Catherine O’Connor received her prize at National Lottery headquarters in Dublin on Thursday after winning last Friday’s Snowball prize of €60,000 as well as an additional €1,000 hotel break in the Super Summer Snowball promotion.
TellyBingo players pick up tickets from authorised lottery retailers and mark the numbers off as they appear on the accompanying TV show. There are a number of awards available in every draw including the Snowball prize, which is a progressive jackpot paid out to anyone matching a full house before a designated number of balls have been drawn. Take a look at the TellyBingo page for more information.
Catherine recalled playing the game with her late mother, saying “she’s dancing up there now” in celebration of her win. She shares her love of TellyBingo with sister Michelle who bought the lucky ticket for her and who, she says, is “over the moon” for her. As well as doing up her home, Catherine will use some of her windfall to visit her brother who has lived in the US for 36 years, intending to spend Thanksgiving with him and his family.
As well as TellyBingo, there are a number of other ways in which you can win big this weekend. Irish Lotto has a top prize worth €2.5 million on Saturday and tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot is a mighty €24 million.
