Dundalk Store ‘Over the Moon’ After Selling Winning EuroMillions Ticket

Staff at a Dundalk retail outlet revealed that they were “over the moon” after selling a jackpot-winning EuroMillions Plus ticket. The winning playslip matched the numbers 1, 10, 19, 35 and 41 to land the six-figure sum for one lucky player in the draw on Tuesday 21th March.
The fortuitous ticket was sold at the Ard Easmuinn branch of Dunnes Stores, and news of the win has created a buzz of excitement amongst the town’s residents. While the winner still remains a mystery, staff are holding out hope that the prize will be claimed by someone living in the local area.
This isn’t the first time this particular branch has been at the centre of attention when it comes to big lottery wins. The store has previously sold tickets worth €250,000 and €300,000, leading staff to believe the shop is “lucky”.
This is the second consecutive time the EuroMillions Plus jackpot has been won, following another player’s success in the draw on Friday 17th March. This is also the fourth time this year that the game’s top prize has been scooped, exactly the same number of times the jackpot had been won at this stage last year.
Elsewhere, the winner of a Christmas Millionaire Raffle prize of €1 million has just 1 week left to contact National Lottery officials. Residents in the Cork area are being urged to check their tickets, with National Lottery chief executive Dermot Griffin leading the search: “You never know, you may have a €1 million winning ticket sitting at the bottom of a Christmas stocking or in an unopened Christmas card,” he said. “It could be a worthwhile search to find the €1 million lucky ticket.”
There are plenty more chances to win big this weekend, with tonight’s EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus draws, as well as an Irish Lotto draw worth an estimated €5 million on Saturday night.
