A player from Athlone in County Westmeath has become Irish Lotto’s latest jackpot winner, scooping a prize worth more than €6.4 million in Saturday night’s draw.
The winning Lotto numbers were 1, 5, 12, 23, 45 and 46. The Bonus Ball was 41 and there were more than 35,000 prizes paid out across the eight categories, but only one ticket proved to be the perfect match. Check out the Irish Lotto Results page for a full prize breakdown.
It has been confirmed that the lucky entry was sold in Athlone, with Irish National Lottery officials now waiting for the winner to come forward. They purchased a Quick Pick ticket at the Applegreen service station located just off the M6/N6 motorway in the Arcadia Retail Park last Thursday and now have 90 days from the date of the draw to stake a claim.
The jackpot had been rising steadily since it was last won on Wednesday 14th April, by a ticket holder from Kilkenny who pocketed €12.7 million. The only other jackpot win of the year went to a player from Limerick on Wednesday 27th January.
Another new millionaire was also created on Saturday night, as someone matched the six winning Lotto Plus 1 numbers. They bought their entry from Cunningham's in the village of Belcarra near Castlebar in Mayo and can now look forward to receiving €1 million.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “Saturday night’s Lotto draw proved to be truly life-changing for two winners in Athlone and Castlebar who both became Ireland’s newest Lotto millionaires. We are encouraging all of our players in those areas to check their tickets carefully.”
The Lotto jackpot will now revert to €2 million for the next draw on Wednesday. You can bet online or visit any authorised retailer in Ireland to take part.
