The luck of the Irish wasn’t with one ticket holder from Cork who has missed out on collecting a Christmas Millionaire Raffle prize of €1 million. The player had until 5:30pm on Friday 31st of March to collect the seven-figure sum, but no contact was made with National Lottery officials despite weeks of campaigning.
Having matched the winning code 179740 in the annual Christmas Millionaire Raffle draw on Saturday 31st December, the player, who purchased their entry from the Topaz Service Station on Lower Tivoli Road in Cork, had 90 days to come forward and receive their prize. However, no contact was made and the prize money will now be used to fund future Irish Lottery promotions.
National Lottery officials will now turn their attention to tracking down the owners of other unclaimed prizes, including one ticket holder from the Dublin area who won a jackpot worth €12.8 million on Wednesday 1st March. With the sizeable sum due to expire on Tuesday 30th May 2017, players are being urged to visit lottery headquarters as soon as possible.
There is also a EuroMillions Plus jackpot of €500,000 and an Irish Lotto Match 5+1 prize of €80,629 waiting to be collected. For more information, visit the brand new Unclaimed Prizes page.
There are plenty of chances to win a huge lottery prize of your own this week, with a EuroMillions fortune of €68 million up for grabs on Tuesday and an Irish Lotto jackpot worth an estimated €6.5 million available on Wednesday.
