A grandmother from Dublin is looking forward to helping out her family after coming forward to claim a big Irish National Lottery win. She landed €100,000 last Saturday after popping into Coolock’s SuperValu and noticing that one of the €5 Money Multiplier scratchcards had become separated from the rest.
“I don’t usually buy the Money Multiplier games but I saw that this particular scratchcard had already been torn away from the rest of the batch and left behind the shop counter,” said the lucky winner in the Irish Mirror. “It was as if it had been returned or torn away by mistake. I would be a very superstitious person so I just knew I had to have it.”
Speaking about her plans for the money, she explained that she would put most of it towards her family. She added: “It is who we are. We are a close family and we always look out for each other. I will never have an opportunity like this again in my lifetime, this will make a huge difference to our lives.”
The lucky lady has not been the only player to pick up a big cheque this week, with a married couple also coming forward to claim €116,251 after matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in Saturday’s Irish Lotto draw. The husband and wife have decided to stay anonymous, but have revealed that they are planning a big family celebration this weekend.
If you want to be in with a chance of winning a big prize like the lucky couple or the Dublin gran, then tonight’s Irish Lotto draw will offer a jackpot of €3.5 million.
