When Was The Jackpot Last Won?
A ticket holder from the Cork village of Crosshaven was the last Irish Lotto player to land the jackpot, securing a €5.6 million windfall on Saturday 24th March. The jackpot has been steadily rolling over ever since. The lucky winner bought their Quick Pick winning ticket from Bernard Lynch’s Centra, and although the multi-millionaire in waiting is yet to come forward to claim their prize, they have up to 90 days from the date of the draw to do so.
€7.5 Million Top Prize The Largest For Seven Months
The jackpot hasn’t reached these dizzy heights since October 2017 when a single ticket holder secured a €7.5 million jackpot on Wednesday 25th October. The winner, who purchased their entry from the Eason bookstore in Thurles Shopping Centre, Co Tipperary, matched the numbers 8, 10, 11, 25, 28 and 32 to land the incredible seven-figure jackpot. They then contacted lottery officials last November to claim their prize.
What Are The Odds of Winning?
Irish Lotto players dreaming of landing the €7.5 million jackpot this weekend will be visualising the state-of-art yachts, expansive holiday homes and top-of-the-range cars they would be able to afford with their new-found wealth. The overall odds of winning any prize in the draw are an encouraging 1 in 29, while the odds of matching all six numbers to claim the jackpot are 1 in 10,737,573.
