An Irish Lotto player became the first jackpot winner of 2026 on Wednesday night as they matched all the numbers to land a prize worth €11.1 million.
The winning numbers were 19, 20, 22, 25, 28 and 43, with a Bonus Ball of 1. More than 29,000 ticket holders won money across all the prize categories, while the various Lotto Plus games created even more winners. Go to the Results page for 25th February to see a full prize breakdown, along with the winning numbers for Lotto Plus 1, Lotto Plus 2 and the Lotto Plus Raffle.
No more information was disclosed immediately after the draw about where the jackpot-winning ticket was sold, but the Irish Lottery announced on Thursday that it was a ticket from Co Mayo. The specific store location is likely to be revealed within a few days.
The winner has 90 days from the draw date to come forward and claim the prize, so the deadline in this case is 26th May. They may go public with their identity if they wish, but most winners prefer to stay anonymous.
Emma Monaghan, spokesperson for the Irish Lottery, said “Mayo will be absolutely buzzing today! One Lotto player has scooped an incredible €11,101,286, officially becoming our first Lotto Jackpot winner of 2026.
"It’s a fantastic moment for the county, and with over 82,000 players winning prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws last night, celebrations are happening right across the country. We’re over the moon for our jackpot winner and are urging everyone in Mayo to check their tickets – it could be you!”
It is the first jackpot win since someone from Westmeath pocketed €6.2 million on 3rd December, and the biggest win since a €17 million payout last August.
The record for the largest win in Irish Lotto history belongs to the family syndicate from Co Mayo who scooped €19 million in January 2022 after a staggering seven-month stretch without a winner. Go to the Biggest Winners page for more information about all the highest jackpots.
The jackpot will now revert to its starting amount of €2 million ahead of the next draw, while EuroMillions is up to €159 million following the recent Superdraw. Keep an eye out for the latest results for your favourite draw games to find out if you might become Ireland's next multimillionaire!
