The Irish Lotto jackpot will rise to an impressive €5 million for the next draw on Wednesday after nobody scooped the top prize on Saturday 18th July. There were still more than 41,000 players who picked up cash rewards, including one ticket holder who is now €25,000 richer after matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball.
The winning numbers on Saturday were 7, 10, 13, 24, 27 and 35 with Bonus Ball 45. As well as the player in the Match 5 + Bonus tier, there were another 44 participants who matched five main numbers to earn €1,424 each. The other prizes won ranged from €5 for matching three main numbers to €177 for matching four main numbers plus the Bonus Ball. Thousands more players won money in the two supplementary games, with one ticket holder in the Lotto Plus 1 draw matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball to land €3,500. The last time the jackpot was won was on Saturday 27th June, and the lucky player came forward to collect her cheque last Thursday. The lady, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought the winning ticket at the Lohan’s Centra in Adare, Co Limerick, but admits that she very nearly didn’t go into the store. She explained: “I was driving through Adare and a spot was free outside the shop, so I popped in and bought an ice cream and a Lotto ticket. If the spot wasn’t there, I would have driven on past.”
The woman is looking forward to sharing her success with her family, but says she ‘won’t take off on a cruise just yet’.
