The Irish Lotto jackpot was scooped for the second consecutive draw on Saturday 27th June as one lucky ticket holder matched all six main numbers drawn to pick up €2 million. On a magnificent night for lottery fans, more than 34,000 players earned money on the main game and one participant also landed the Lotto Plus 1 top prize of €350,000.
The winning numbers on the evening were 1, 2, 7, 22, 35 and 45 with Bonus Ball 4. As well as the jackpot winner, one ticket holder matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball to pocket €25,000, while another 35 players each matched five main numbers to become €1,707 richer. The remaining Irish Lotto prizes ranged from a fixed amount of €5 for matching three main numbers to €150 for matching four main numbers plus the Bonus Ball.
The winner of the top prize bought their ticket at Lohan’s Centra in Adare, Co Limerick, and employees at the store have already begun to speculate over the identity of the new millionaire. Supervisor Louise Cusack said in the Irish Mirror: “I do hope it’s a local person who won but there are lots of tourists passing through Adare. It is great to know that it was sold here, it is fantastic for the shop and it would be fantastic for the community too if it was a local person.”
There were well over 30,000 players who grabbed prizes in Lotto Plus 1, including one participant who matched six main numbers to grab the set top prize, while more than 45,000 ticket holders snapped up prizes in Lotto Plus 2. The Irish Lotto is really on a winning run at the moment, having also seen a single ticket holder snare the jackpot of €2.9 million on Wednesday 24th June.
