Irish Lottery Launches 2025’s Christmas Millionaire Raffle
Last Updated: Monday 3rd November 2025, 16:19 pm
The Irish Lottery has made its Christmas Millionaire Raffle — an annual event with limited tickets and a guaranteed top prize of €1 million — available to the public. You can now buy your tickets in advance of the draw which takes place 31st December 2025. If you want to warm up your festive period even further, this lottery is a great way to do it — what’s more warm than a fun draw game with the possibility of cash prizes?
What is the Christmas Millionaire Raffle?
The Irish Christmas Millionaire Raffle is played just like any other lottery — simply buy your ticket and await the draw — but with two key differences. Firstly, there are a limited number of tickets. With only 600,000 available, the odds are substantially more manageable than regular lotteries like Lotto, EuroMillions, and Daily Million.
Secondly, you don’t choose your number. The Christmas Millionaire Raffle is similar to the Quick Pick experience. Your raffle ticket is sold with a pre-decided, randomly selected number.
Tickets are €25 each. Once you have made your purchase you will be assigned a unique raffle number which cannot be chosen by you. On New Year’s Eve, when the draw takes place, all the ticket numbers come together in a single pool and the entries are drawn from it. After the draw has happened, you can check the results to see if any of the winning numbers match yours. If your ticket number is drawn you win the prize that corresponds to it.
Odds and Prizes
There are a total of 8,500 prizes (see table below for a detailed list), ranging from €500 to a guaranteed jackpot of €1 million. The total tickets are limited to 600,000, meaning that the overall odds of winning any prize are around 1 in 70.59.
| Prize Tier | Number of Prizes | Prize Value (€) | Odds of Winning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Top Prize | 1 | 1,000,000 | 1 in 600,000 |
| Second Prize | 6 | 100,000 | 1 in 100,000 |
| Third Prize | 15 | 10,000 | 1 in 40,000 |
| Fourth Prize | 45 | 5,000 | 1 in 13,333 |
| Fifth Prize | 302 | 1,000 | 1 in 1,986 |
| Sixth Prize | 8,131 | 500 | 1 in 74 |
| Any Prize | 8,500+ | 500–1,000,000 | ~1 in 70.6 |
When it first launched in 2009, the Millionaire Raffle was focused on special seasonal draws, but from around 2015 onwards has been offered annually with set‑ticket quantities and a guaranteed top prize of €1 million.
The seasonal timing adds to the appeal and excitement of the draw. The fact that many tickets are given as gifts also adds to the social and festive dimension of the draw.
