EuroMillions Jackpot Record Set To Be Matched

EuroMillions Jackpot Record Set To Be Matched

Last Updated: Tuesday 27th September 2022, 12:17 pm

The EuroMillions jackpot has reached its cap of €190 million for only the third time in history following a rollover on Friday 29th September. If there is a single winner on Tuesday night, they will match the record jointly held by a UK ticket holder in 2012 and a Portuguese player in 2014.

The numbers drawn on Friday were 7, 18, 19, 32 and 48, with Lucky Stars 3 and 7. Among the 4.2 million players across Europe who picked up prizes, there were 112,801 Irish winners. One lucky ticket holder from Dublin, who bought their Quick Pick entry at Spar in Ashtown Grove on the Navan Road, matched five main numbers plus one Lucky Star to win €320,208. Magic Mark

There is now a chance that somebody from Ireland could become the biggest EuroMillions winner ever from the country, and ticket sales are set to soar all over the Emerald Isle. A National Lottery spokesman said: “There is massive excitement as Tuesday’s EuroMillions jackpot is expected to hit the magic €190 million mark, the maximum jackpot cap in the EuroMillions community.”

He added: “This would dwarf the €115 million won by Dolores McNamara in 2005 and is the first time since 2014 that we have seen the jackpot at this level. We are expecting a massive interest from our players who could become one of the biggest ever EuroMillions winners ever this Tuesday night.”

How It Works

As the EuroMillions jackpot cannot grow bigger than €190 million, any excess money which would usually go to the top prize will instead be directed to the next winning tier. As such, players could pick up bigger rewards than usual just for matching five main numbers plus one Lucky Star.

The jackpot can stay at €190 million for a maximum of four draws, and if it is still not won then the full amount will roll down to the next tier in which there are winners. One way or another the €190 million will be given away at some point in the next fortnight.
