€8.2m Irish Lotto Jackpot Winner Claims Prize

Ireland’s most recent multi-millionaire has come forward to claim their €8.2 million prize, as a Midlands lottery player gets extremely lucky in a recent Irish Lotto drawing.
The Lotto draw in question occurred this past weekend on Saturday 25th July 2026, unveiling numbers 23, 24, 25, 42, 43, and 46. The Bonus Ball was 37. There were also 3 winners of the Match 5 + Bonus Ball tier, 24 winners of the Match 5 tier, and thousands of other Lotto winners across the Emerald Isle.
Who Won?
It is customary in Ireland for the identity of huge jackpot winners to remain private, and so nothing is publicly known about the winner. However, based on where and when the ticket was bought, we can draw a few logical conclusions.
The ticket was purchased at the Barack Obama Plaza, a motorway service station located at Junction 23 on the M7 Dublin to Limerick. This implies that the future winner could have been traveling when they made the purchase. It was also bought on the day of an All-Ireland football final too, meaning that they could be a GAA sports fan or a tourist. It’s also possible that they are a local resident.
Local Victories
Patrick McDonagh, Founder and Managing Director of Supermac’s and Plaza Group, was thrilled to discover that the ticket was sold in this location, calling it “a landmark for the local community and for people travelling from every corner of the country,”, adding that it was “wonderful to think that someone simply dropping in has had their life changed forever.”
“Everyone here is hugely excited by the news and we would like to congratulate the winner of this incredible prize. We hope they take the time to enjoy the moment, celebrate with their loved ones and make the very most of this life-changing win. On behalf of everyone at Obama Plaza, we wish them every happiness for the future.”
This jackpot win is not the only one to have come from the Emerald Isle in the past weekend. A €1 million Daily Million top prize was won in Cork on Sunday 26th July, making 19 Irish millionaires in 2026 so far. National Lottery Spokesperson Sarah Orr claims to “look forward to welcoming them to our famous Winners Room very soon.”
