€1 Million Lotto Plus Raffle To Mark St Patrick’s Weekend

€1 Million Lotto Plus Raffle To Mark St Patrick’s Weekend

Last Updated: Tuesday 27th September 2022, 09:24 am

An additional €1 million will be added to the Lotto Plus prize pot on Saturday 16th March to celebrate the weekend of St Patrick’s Day. The money is guaranteed to be won and you just have to make sure you add Lotto Plus to your ticket to be in with a chance of grabbing a slice.

Special Raffle Draw

When you play Lotto Plus, your Irish Lotto numbers are automatically entered into the Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 draws. You are also given a four-digit Lotto Plus Raffle code for each line of numbers you play.

One winning code is selected at random in every draw and, in a regular game, everyone with a matching code wins €500 each. The number of winners varies per draw but there are usually between 80 and 120 (there were 97 on Saturday 9th March).

In the St Patrick’s Weekend special, all the winners will also share an extra €1 million. The exact value of the prize will depend on the number of winners, but it is likely that you will receive between €8,000 and €12,500 if you match the winning code, in addition to the standard €500 payout.

The odds of winning the Lotto Plus Raffle are 1 in 10,000 for every individual code. However, as the minimum play is two lines, your chances of winning are effectively 1 in 5,000.

St Patrick’s Day Celebrations

It is possible to win multiple prizes on the same night, if your Lotto Plus Raffle code comes up and some of your numbers are drawn in Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 or Lotto Plus 2. If you land a big award on Saturday, it would set you up perfectly for St Patrick’s Day.

The special event this year follows a EuroMillions draw 12 months ago to mark St Patrick’s Day, in which one lucky player won €1 million on the Ireland Only Raffle.

The EuroMillions jackpot has started to grow quickly again since the family syndicate from Co Dublin scooped a record €175 million last month, giving players another exciting option ahead of the big weekend.
