Lotto Plus Raffle Adds an Extra €1 Million on Saturday 3rd August

An additional €1 million will be added to the prize fund for the Lotto Plus Raffle on Saturday 3rd August, giving you the chance to win a far bigger payout than normal. The special event has been scheduled as a Bank Holiday surprise from the National Lottery and is set to reward lots of lucky winners. Here’s how it will work:
How to Play the Lotto Plus Raffle
Every time you play Lotto, you can also add the Lotto Plus option to your ticket at an extra cost of €1 per line. You will then be automatically entered into three supplementary games without having to do anything else.
The numbers you pick for the main game will also be entered into separate Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 draws, while you will be given a four-digit Lotto Plus Raffle code for every line of numbers you play. You have to purchase at least two lines.
Bigger Prizes on Saturday 3rd August
A single code is selected as the winner and if the number on your ticket matches it exactly in order, the standard prize is €500. This Saturday, however, everyone who matches the winning code will split an extra €1 million between them.
There are usually between 80 and 120 winners in every draw, so you can expect to land somewhere between €8,000 and €12,500 if you get lucky in Saturday’s special draw. That’s on top of the usual €500.
The last time that a draw of this kind took place, on Saturday 11th May, there were 102 winners of the Lotto Plus Raffle and each player was paid €10,304.
The exact payout can’t be known in advance because it depends on the number of winners. If there aren’t as many winners as in the May draw, everyone will get a greater share of the €1 million and the prize per player will be even higher.
What are the Odds of Winning?
The odds of winning the Lotto Plus Raffle are 1 in 10,000, as there are 10,000 possible combinations of four numbers. However, as you must have at least two codes, your chances are effectively 1 in 5,000.
It is also possible to win multiple prizes across the different Lotto games on the same night. Your overall odds of winning a prize if you play Lotto and Lotto Plus are 1 in 10.
